— test study

The proposal for the test study of the Etraz sector aims to give a distinct identity to the area located between the railway tracks and Route de l’Etraz.

Current developments, mostly driven by private investments, are characterized by a strong rejection of Route de l’Etraz, which is perceived as a major nuisance due to its heavy traffic.

The current situation reveals that several existing elements have significant structuring potential, but are underused or not utilized at all. This includes, in particular, the Vieux Village area, the north–south connectivity offered by currently private pathways, and natural features such as vegetation and water.

The proposed plan introduces a series of interventions designed to strengthen these elements and make them key drivers of medium- and long-term urban development, while restoring Route de l’Etraz to a unifying role within the neighborhood.
